To change an IP address on a solaris system:

1. change /etc/inet/hosts
2. change /etc/inet/ipnodes
3. change /etc/defaultrouter
4. change /etc/inet/netmasks
5. change /etc/resolv.conf if necessary
6. update httpd.conf if necessary
7. update smb.conf if necessary
8. update hosts.allow if necessary
9. upate /etc/syslog.conf if necessary
10. update DNS
11. make sure you know the root password
12. reboot
