NT Second Level Cache Tweak
Last Updated: 24 March 1998
By default, NT only uses 256K of Level 2 cache per processor. If you have 512K, or more,
you might want to tweak your registry to let NT know... If you don't know how much level 2
cache you have, pay attention while your machine is booting.
To do this, run regedt32 from the Start -> Run window.
- select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- select CurrentControlSet
- select Control
- select Session Manager
- select Memory Management
- double click on SecondLevelDataCache
- click on decimal
- enter your cache size
- close regedt32
- reboot
